Host Paramount Sportings-A emerged champions in the All-India Arabinda Das Memorial GAIL India Cup U-15 Cricket Tournament, defeating Naihati Sporting, West Bengal in the final by seven wickets here at Paramount Sportings ground today. The champion team received the Aurobinda Memorial Trophy and a cash prize of Rs 20,000, while the runners-up side took home the Bimal Prasad Memorial Trophy and a cash prize of Rs 10,000.
Bhubaneswar Mayor Ananta Narayan Jena handed over the trophies in the presence of Paramount Sportings president Pratap Jena and secretary Ashok Patra. Sudarshan Swain of the champion team bagged three individual prizes as players of the final match, best batsman and player of the tournament. The prizes for best bowler and best fielder were pocketed by Partha Sarathi Sahu (Paramout Sportings-A) and Suraj Yadav (Naihati Sporting) respectively.
The tournament, featuring 16 teams, was organised by Paramount Sportings from March 18. State Tourism and Culture Minister Ashok Panda inaugurated the tournament in the presence of Bhubaneswar Mayor Anant Narayan Jena, Deputy Mayor K Shanti, Paramount Sportings president Pratap Jena and secretary Ashok Patra.
